Becoming successful is a process that takes time and effort. It is a journey of 10,000 hours.
Do you have an athlete who is struggling or discouraged because they are behind? Kobe Bryant was known for his Mamba Mentality. The Mamba Mentality means, "Trying to be the best version of yourself." It means, "Every day, you are trying to become better."
In an interview addressing mental health issues, Kobe talked about the process of getting better, and how some kids get discouraged. He said:
We rise, but we rise step-by-step. It's not one quantum leap. I see too many kids get so discouraged because they expect to make this quantum leap, and when that quantum leap doesn't come, it feels like it will never come.
But you can't jump from the bottom of Everest to get to the top of Everest. Superman is only in comics.
