“A lot of people notice you when you succeed, but they don’t see what it takes to get there.” - Dawn Staley

To achieve your dreams at the highest level, you will have to work so much harder and go through so much more than you or anyone else can imagine.

And nobody will care - until you reach your mountain.

Nobody will know about nor care about the 10,000 hours of work you do in the dark or in silence; they will only cheer for the results they can see. That’s why so many great athletes say they just fell in love with the process - fell in love with the work that being great requires.

Dawn Staley is a championship basketball coach. She said, “A lot of people notice you when you succeed, but they don’t see what it takes to get there.”

Nobody truly knows how hard Steph Curry had to work and what he had to overcome on his journey to become the best shooter in the world.

Nobody truly knows what all Serena and Venus Williams felt and had to go through on their journeys toward becoming tennis champions.

We see the documentaries and can listen to the interviews, but you don’t really know what it takes unless you are in the arena and doing the work.

So when it starts to feel hard and you don’t know if you can keep going, remember that is the point. It is supposed to be hard. Hard is what separates those who really want it from those who don’t.

If success and greatness were easy, everyone would do it. But they aren’t.

Question of the Day: When it gets hard, how do you keep going?
