Damion Lillard: If I could issue any challenge to any young athlete, I would just say to have a great level of accountability for yourself. I take care of my own stuff. I get to the gym early. I work hard. I am the most coachable. I am accountable for myself so I can hold other people accountable.

People will follow you if you talk. Communication is the fabric of the team. How are we supposed to get better if we don't talk? Make your presence felt on every single court you show up on. Talk early, talk loud, talk often.

No matter what industry you are in, there is going to be some level of metrics that determine success, and you will have to determine which metrics mean the most to you. Be comfortable with how you are going to be judged from the outside, but have peace with how you are doing what you are doing regardless of the outcome.
