In the video below, WNBA star Candace Parker talks about what she learned about Kobe Bryan’s competitive spirit, his work ethic, and his leadership.
She said the first time he met Kobe’s daughters, he said, “You see these girls? They are going to break all your records one day. That was just the competitive spirit that he always had.”
That was a testament to his competitive spirit.
When she was in the Olympics when Kobe was still playing, she said they would always have practice but the guys didn’t. She said every single time, before they practiced, Kobe was on the court in a full sweat getting his shots up.
That was a testament to his work ethic.
When she went to the LA Sparks, she shared the same arena as Kobe and the Lakers, and there she saw his competitive spirit. She said, “Bosses push and leaders pull. He demonstrated all that. He got to where he wanted his teams to be, and he just pulled them there."
That was a testament to his leadership.
